Device Overview

AllDieselBench VP Tester is an electronic control and diagnostic device designed for testing, controlling and adjusting Bosch VP44, VP30 and VP29 diesel fuel injection pumps equipped with PSG5 and PSG16 control units on a suitable external test bench.

The PC software enables fuel delivery and injection timing control via the CAN bus, operating data monitoring and test report generation. Supported PSG5 applications also allow fault code reading and clearing, correction coefficient adjustment and control unit programming.

The device is used with a computer and a suitable test bench that provides the mechanical drive for the pump. Available functions depend on the pump model and control unit type.

Control and Diagnostic Functions

  • Control of pump fuel delivery via the CAN bus.
  • Injection timing system control according to test plans or user-defined operating modes.
  • Operation with EPS815 test plans and user-defined test modes.
  • Display of target and actual injection timing values and timing control valve duty cycle.
  • Monitoring of the BIP signal measured by the pump control unit.
  • Monitoring of dynamic CAN faults and their occurrence counts during testing.
  • Generation of pump test reports.
  • Assistance in determining the pump shaft position for locking or pulley installation according to the applicable reference values.
  • Reading of pump control unit identification data in supported PSG5 applications.
  • Reading and clearing of stored fault codes with descriptions in supported PSG5 applications.
  • Inspection of PSG5 start-up self-diagnostic status, including faults associated with the EEPROM, transistor, metering unit, CAN and other components.
  • Reading and writing of correction coefficients associated with injection and fuel delivery in supported PSG5 applications.
  • PSG5 configuration changes and programming of new PSG5 control units for the relevant pump number in supported applications.
  • Rapid test-bench calibration and reset functions for supported Ford pump applications.
  • Investigation of power transistor faults, sticking metering valves and short circuits using the oscilloscope probe.

Operation with VP44–PSG16 pumps requires an additional PSG16 Tool, and the pump must be switched to test-bench mode. PSG16 Tool is not included in the standard delivery.
